Cheap Mopeds

It used to be that when scooters were mentioned, people thought about a toy that probably had two wheels (sometimes three) and was propelled by the foot that was not actually on the scooter. However, that has changed and now when the word scooter is heard, most people think about an electric driven or gas driven device.

For the younger riders, there are stand up gas powered scooters. They tend to just have a board for standing between the handle and first wheel and the second wheel. However, some may have a small seat on the back for resting. These work really well for getting around a neighborhood and helping to save some gas. The maximum speed of these scooters does not tend to go past 30 mph.

Besides the gas consumption, there are other things to consider when wanting to buy a scooter. There is the decision to have air filled tires or solid tires, the type of transmission, and the suspension.

Notable manufacturers of these types of scooters are Go-Ped, Evo Powerboards, and BladeZ Scooters.

There are also sit down scooters that are much more like motorcycles. These scooters are typically smaller and have smaller wheels, and a step through frame. However, they run on gasoline. They are very popular in Europe and Asia. In America, it seems to be more popular to have a maxi-scooter which means that the scooter has a bigger engine. The most familiar type of these scooters is probably the Vespa. In pop culture, a Vespa can be seen in the Lizzie McGuire Movie. As for a scooter in pop culture from a cartoon, Ron Stoppable, the character of Kim Possible, rides a scooter.

Scooters are quite popular for urban transportation. This is because they do not cost as much as a car, they have an low riding position, and they do not use as much gas as a car.

Both of these types of scooters can be quite popular to bring on vacation. They often fit in the trunks of cars. They can then be brought along and be ridden in the vacation destination rather than taking the car everywhere.

Before buying a motor scooter, there are many factors to consider. The first is balance. Most people can balance on a scooter, but would you be able to balance? This is the very first question to ask, for if the answer is no, a scooter should not be bought.

However, if you can balance on a scooter, then there are many other questions to ask. Do you want to mainly sit or stand? If you want to stand, do you want a seat for times when you want to rest, or do you just want to get off of the scooter and sit elsewhere? If you want to sit, where do you need the seat relative to the handlebars?

Then, there are the questions about efficiency with fuel and the maximum speed that can be achieved. There are many options to consider before buying one of these scooters for mobility.

An important thing to realize is that these are scooters for mobility, but they are not for indoors, though some places may allow them. If looking for mobility for an elder person, it is much better to go to those medical websites about scooter chairs and not these scooters. There are many types of cheap mopeds and scooters available, from mopeds which are basically 50cc scooters to small petrol scooters which kids love up to large mobility scooters for the disabled. Whichever situation you require a scooter for, cheap maybe not always best but the quality of any scooters is usually pretty high quality.,

X-Treme Scooters – The Good - Bad and the Ugly

It is quite common for trends to come and go with each new generation. Fashion, music, slang and even a persons lifestyle, how they live their life is affected by these fads or trends. Toys and recreational past times are no exception. In the days of old, 5-10 years ago, everyone wanted an electric scooter or a gas scooter.

No one wants plain old electric scooters anymore, they don’t want just gas powered scooter; the trend today is to get an X-Treme Scooter. An X-Treme Scooter is versatile, quick and can go the distance.

With growing popularity, X-Treme Scooters is filling that need.

1. X-Treme scooters are versatile: When you look for a scooter, whether it is a gas scooter or an electric scooter, you want to be able to fold it down fo easy storage. The foldable electric scooters are popular among college students, mariners, campers and most popular among those with an RV.

2. X-Treme Scooters are quick: All X-Treme Scooters are quick for their assigned task. It is important to note that the speed you get with your x-treme scooter is dependant on such variables as
a. The weight that the scooter is carrying.
b. The terrain that the scooter is going over.
c. The weather conditions – wind, rain ..etc.
d. Maintenance: The condition, and charge if electric, of the scooter – always check tire pressure, oil/grease chain. If gas scooter, clean air filter, wipe plug and make sure gas tank has no debris buildup.

3. How far can X-Treme Scooters Go? Well, that really depends on the type and model. But that is not all. For electric scooters, you need to go a little deeper than just the description.

a. Watts does not always equal power: When you see an electric scooter and it says 250,350,500 and some boast 750 up 1000 watt motors, how can you really be sure you’re getting what you paid for? Every electric scooter motor has a plate on it for identification. On the plate is the actual output rating for that motor. I have seen 500 watt scooters listed as 750 and 1000 watt. Be careful.

b. Voltage does not always equal power: If you have the wattage, you need the batteries to support the wattage. In the old days, everything was either an 8 volt or a single 12 volt system. Over the years, x-treme scooters have evolved into 24, 36 and 48 volt systems. Traditional electric scooters these days will have either 12 or 24 volt systems. When you see a 36 volt system, that will give you a minute increase in power, but the real advantage is distance and torque. The more voltage, the longer your scooter will run and the more weight your scooter will be able to cary.

c. The Controller Is Key: What is the controller? The controller is the “Brain” of your scooter. Think of the processor n a computer; the controller is the processor in your scooter and without this, the scooter will not work. Though you have no choice in what controller you get, you need to make sure that the controller will work with the motor and the battery setup of your scooter. Without compatibility between these systems, your scooter can blow fuses, surge the batteries, surge the motor, or even catch fire.

Most electric scooters and gas scooters these days are made in China. There are very few companies in the United States that make their own scooters. Go-ped is the leader of this group. X-Treme Scooters are gaining popularity and are currently used in X-Treme Sports; such as the X-Games. All around the country, you can find go-ped groups springing up and races are common.

Don’t be stuck in the past, move forward in the now and enjoy life to the fullest. Get your X-Treme Scooter and have a blast. Times are changing, the next thing on the horizon is the “WAVE”. Will you be left behind?

Top 10 Electric Scooters

What caused the increase in popularity of electric scooters? In recent years, electric motor and battery technology has advanced tremendously. Today's LEVs (Light Electric Vehicles) have clear advantages over fossil fuel powered vehicles in the areas of performance, ease of use and operating costs.

"Green is in" ... a lot of people have become environmentally-friendly these days. You can say that it has now become trendy and chic to travel in these "green" modes of transportation.

Pollution free ... Because electric vehicles run on batteries and do not burn fossil fuels as their main system of propulsion, they provide the opportunity to reduce your personal environmental impact and improve local air quality.

Quiet ... There's nothing better than cruising down the streets and the only thing you hear is the wind blowing in the air. Electric motors are quiet and give you an entirely different feeling when riding. Many gas-powered personal vehicles are louder than lawn-mowers. Quiet electric vehicles seem to glide down the road with ease and are welcomed in most communities.

Whatever your reason may be for choosing to purchase an electric scooter, I have compiled a list that you may find helpful in narrowing down your choices. In no particular order, the top 10 electric scooters are:

Top 10 Gas Scooters

Many manufacturers of gas scooters have come and gone in the past 10 years. It has become a very competitive industry; especially since the influx of cheaper Chinese brand clones entering the U.S. market. That being said, the quality gap between USA made and Chinese made scooters still heavily tilts in favor of the USA branded scooters. It is no surprise that 10 out of the 10 top gas scooters are all USA made scooters.

1. EVO 2X Powerboard

The Evo 2X is a third generation gas scooter from Puzey Design. The Evo brand powerboards are the highest quality products on the market and the fastest scooters ever built. The 2-speed gearbox is a patented, unique drive system that is the heart of the Evo 2X. It is the first two speed scooter in the world.

The range of applications of powerboards and scooters have thus far been limited by low revving, low horsepower engines. Now with the 2-speed gearbox, you can have the power when pulling off, or going uphill, in first gear and have the top speed with 2nd gear. Steep hill climbs for riders over 250lbs are no problem for the Evo 2X.

Another technological advancement found in the Evo 2X is the patented Cam-Link suspension. It is a true suspension system that offers a smooth ride, while offering excellent resistance when landing after jumps. Once you try it you will simply see there is nothing like it. This suspension is the strongest, most robust front suspension in the industry today.

The Evo 2X is one of the most reliable scooters ever produced. The steel and T6 aluminum frame are nearly indestructible. There have been reports of Evo scooters going 1300 miles without even replacing a belt.

Things you'll never have to replace include:

The Frame and Suspension - Even though this scooter is largely designed with light weight aluminum, it is reinforced with steel where necessary. This makes the frame and structure of the scooter nearly indestructible.

The Engine - The Active 50 is not only an impressive power plant, it is also one of the most reliable engines available. A properly maintained engine which is run on 91+ octane fuel with a proper mix (1:40 - 1:50) will last the life of the scooter.

The Deck - The Evo 2X comes with one of the sturdiest decks available for a scooter. Although it is aluminum, it is unbelievably resilient to scratching and will never bend or crack.

2. Go-Ped GTR46i - Trail Ripper Interceptor

The Goped GTR Interceptor is an on-road, street racing version of the Goped GTR46 Trail Ripper. This high-performance Go-Ped now comes with the following modifications:

  • New quieter exhaust system
  • Smooth ride AT Primo Duro Trap aggressive treaded street tires
  • Higher speed, better fuel economy
  • Quieter GSR46R 6-76 sprocket drive ratio

These modifications make the Go-Ped GTR46i perfect for those that want to experience the fully suspended plush ride on paved and unpaved surfaces that comes only from the race proven and patented CIDLI suspension system. Dubbed C.I.D.L.I. for Cantilevered Independent Dynamic Linkless Indispension, this unique front and rear swing arm system is indispensable to this practical and fun light weight off-road machine.

3. Go-Ped Riot

The Go-Ped Riot was introduced along side the Go-Ped GTR46 as a pitbike like "scooter". Like the GTR46, the Go-Ped Riot features front and rear CIDLI suspension.

Using the patented Trail Ripper adjustable suspension system in the front and rear, it offers riders great off-roading capabilities with 6" of travel on each end. Powered by the powerful Go-Ped GP460RS engine geared at 6:98, the rugged and highly reliable Go-Ped Riot gives excellent bottom end and a stock top speed of 30mph. The centrifugal clutch provides for a very user friendly yet thrill-packed ride.

4. Martin Monster Beast

The Martin Monster Beast is the most powerful MMI production scooter available. It comes stock with a 52cc Mitsubishi engine which has almost twice the torque as the RC230 powered scooters. Each Beast is hand built by a single technician.

The frame uses the same dual suspension system Martin Monsters has become famous for. The frame is show chromed and hand polished. The drive chain is a robust 35 pitch heavy duty chain with a centrifugal clutch for easy stop-and-go use. The Beast is very powerful but also very quiet with tremendous reserves of power and torque. The Martin Monster Beast comes with an anti-vibration system for a very smooth vibration free ride. Many aftermarket performance parts are available to further customize your Beast.

5. Go-Ped GTR Roadster

The Goped GTR Roadster is an economy version of the Goped GTR46i. With the exception of the smaller Chung Yang GPL290 engine and welded T-bar handlebars, the GTR Roadster is the exact same scooter.

This cool scooter features the race proven, patented, adjustable and bullet proof GTR full 6" CIDLI suspension frame. To that we've installed the incredibly light, yet powerful and quieter GPL290 engine with TT tires and sprocket drive ratios of the GSR Cruiser.

6. Martin Monster Super Shocker

The Martin Monster Super Shocker is a dual purpose machine equally at home, off road, or on. It comes with 10" pneumatic knobby tires, to handle any terrain. The Super Shocker comes with a heavy duty automatic clutch which allows hands free stop-and-go operation.

This is the first and the best production scooter to use full suspension. The front suspension is telescoping motorcycle style and the rear is mono shock absorbing with up to 4" of travel. A drilled front disk brake gives sure fast stopping. Power from the Martin Monster Super Shocker is by the Komatsu Zenoah RC230 engine with 2.5HP.

7. EVO 2 Powerboard

The Evo 2 is a third generation gas scooter from Puzey Design. The Evo brand powerboards are the highest quality products on the market and the fastest scooters ever built. The 2-speed gearbox is a patented, unique drive system that is the heart of the Evo 2X. It is the first two speed scooter in the world.

The Evo 2 is a high-performance, two speed scooter released as a more economical version of the Evo 2X. Unlike its big-brother, the Evo 2 does not have front suspension or a scrub board to protect the under-deck area. Rather than the impressive Active 50, the Evo 2 sports the milder Active 40 engine.

Since the Evo 2 does have the two speed transmission of the Evo 2X, it still does perform impressively despite the lack of performance in the Active 40 engine. If the Evo 2 is being used purely for transportation, the Active 40 will provide enough power along with the two speed transmission, but if any real speed is desired, an engine upgrade should be the first step.

That being said, the Evo 2 is one of the most reliable scooters ever produced

8. Go-Ped Super GSR46R

The Go-Ped GSR46R is one of the most powerful street scooters released by Go-Ped. It is intended to be a street-only scooter since it lacks any form of frame-based suspension. When it was released, the GSR46R, Go-Ped marketed it as the fastest production scooter in the world. Although the claim is debatable, it could very well have been true due to the high speeds attainable with the large R460 engine.

Developed on the legendary GSR40Tsi - Interceptor Go-Ped - the Super GSR46R is powered by the same motor as on the fearless Trail Ripper GTR46. Equipped with a patent pending centrifugal clutch chain drive mechanism geared at 6/76, the GP460RS engine delivers 4.2HP and 2.31 ft-lbs torque with a 17,500 redline, providing for excellent performance at low and high speeds. Tunable, it can even reach 5.5+ HP and 2.6+ ft-lbs of torque with the addition of an aftermarket expansion chamber.

The front and rear Mad Dog disc brakes provide excellent braking performance perfectly matched for the power output of the Go-Ped Super GSR46R.

All of Patmont Motor Werks finest racing components come standard: Heavy duty 4130 chromoly steel frame and double sided fork, pneumatic TT tires mounted with magnesium rims and 20" Motorcycle style "Tim Patmont bend" racing handlebars fitted with a slide tube clamp, billet stem pro clamp, Go-Ped race pad and Pro control levers.

9. Martin Monster Moto

The Martin Monster Moto is a full suspension, chain driven scooter which inherited much of its design from its older brother, the Martin Monster Beast. The Moto's advanced design features include such technical innovations as an anti-vibration system, which provides for a smooth vibration free ride. Other features include dual disk brakes, heavy duty chain drive, automatic clutch and front & rear suspension.

10. Go-Ped GSR Cruiser

The GSR Cruiser is the perfect machine for the customer wanting a quiet, reliable and economical motorized scooter with good performance, but also for beginners wanting an affordable, safe and easy to learn first scooter. PMW believes it is the perfect machine for a very large segment of motorized scooter enthusiasts.

The Go-Ped GSR Cruiser is also the perfect machine for motor heads and the after market community, as chassis upgrades and screaming engine mods are widely available. The GSR Cruiser's power plant, the new GPL290, is based on the high performance GP290RS engine, designed to be a very reliable, quiet and economical cruiser. Top speeds for the GSR Cruiser are in the mid 20mph range, and its horse power is similar to the earlier GSR40.

Stopping power comes from the front Mad Dog brake caliper and double ground and hardened stainless steel Wave disc rotor. The rear brake mount is ready for the rear brake upgrade should the customer so choose to modify for more speed which needs more stopping power.

Cheap Motor Scooters

Hundreds of companies and brands offer different types of motor scooters. Available in different sizes, styles and colors, prices vary by model and company. Some companies offer affordable prices and discounts, enabling us to make huge savings on motor scooters.

Motor scooters can be gas or electric-powered. They range in price from $300 to $2,000 or more. Some companies offer further discounts for huge savings. Urban Scooters, Planet Mobility, United Scooter and GMI Motor Sport are some example of companies which offer motor scooters at discounted rates.

100% chrome electric motor scooters can be found at United Scooter, which gives a 110% guarantee for the lowest price of motor scooters. Featuring disc brakes and speeds ranging from 25 to 35 mph, its electric scooters are a good value. The company offers gas motor scooters, too.

The Scooter Company also offers motor scooters at reduced or wholesale prices. Gas scooters of 99cc, 125cc, 150cc, and 250cc can all be found here. At an affordable price of $399.00, Viza Motors provides gas scooters equipped with disc brakes, great suspension, removable seat, and lots of other features. All Web Scooters also offers motor scooters at discounted rates.

Gas motor scooters like ‘Go-Ped gas motor scooters’ and ‘Mosquito gas motor scooters’ are usually priced higher; however, they can be got cheaply at Urban Scooters. Priced at $299.00 and $399.95 with free shipping, they are indeed truly affordable. Electric scooters like ‘Currie electric bikes’ are also available starting at $529.95.

Five Flags Motor Bikes is another company which provides good-quality motor scooters with free shipping and a 90-day warranty. Free shipping is also offered by GMI Motor Sports, whose scooters are all DOT-certified.

Motor scooters can be obtained cheaply from the companies mentioned. However, the best scooters are those which merge affordability with safety. Hence, it is always advisable to look for safety and other features along with the price.

Gas Scooters Have Many Advantages

Thanks to the ever increasing gas prices, everyone is looking for ways to ease the pain at the gas pumps and save some money. This may be the right time for you to consider purchasing one of those powered scooters. Both gas scooters and electric motor scooters have their own unique set of features. Thanks to the many varied styles of scooters that are available, you should have no trouble finding one that is right for you.

The gasoline scooter can usually get more mileage before having to refuel, whereas even the top electric scooter battery will need recharging every few hours or around 16 miles. The gas powered scooters can take you several miles (around 250-300) on a single gallon tank so that saves you money because you would use less gas to fill it and it results in less fuel stops.

If someone were to tell you that the faster you go the less you will pay, would you believe them? Normally that statement would be false; however, in the case of gas scooters that is a possibility. They tend to be a better deal because you can drive them faster and still pay proportionally less than you would with electric ones. The gasoline ones will average anywhere from 10 to 20 mph faster than electric ones.

The gas motor scooters usually last longer as they are more durable, in part due to the fact that they are designed to handle higher speeds, as well as quite a few models being able to go off road as well. These ones work well in all seasons, unlike the electric scooter battery that decreases in power during both extreme cold and heat. Refueling is much easier when using a gas one, as you can just add gas, yet with electric ones, it is rather difficult to charge a battery when you are on the go and it takes about 4 to 8 hours for it to charge completely.

If you need a little more convincing before you purchase a gas scooter, then consider the fact that these devices have a basic and straight forward design, which makes it less susceptible to needing repairs; however, if repairs are necessary, then the scooters parts are normally readily available, saving time and money. Remember that you are already ahead of the game because cars and motorcycles are much more expensive than gas scooters so you were saving money the moment you make the purchase.

The gasoline ones emit far less emissions into the air than a car, allowing you to be environmentally friendly too. You may even be able to cut down your car insurance premium as these devices are generally less expensive to insure.

What Are the Pros of a Gas Scooter?

These days, everyone is looking for ways to cut down on expenses, including alternate forms of transportation. That is one reason why powered scooters have become more popular again. Perhaps you are interested in an electric or gas scooter that will save you money. Each style has its own set of features so you are bound to find one you like. Consider checking out and a few different ones online before heading out and driving all over town, as doing so will save you time and money.

At one time if you wanted to own a scooter, then you had two choices. You could either purchase one of the kick scooters or none at all. Fortunately, there have been many changes and improvements since then, allowing more choices in both gas and electric scooters. They each have their own unique set of features that are constantly changing and improving. There are many different things that have been added to the designs. Being inexpensive to own, economical to operate and easy to handle, they continue to grow in popularity.

There are some heavier and larger gas powered scooters that are perfect for longer trips and the smaller and lighter models are great for running around town and doing errands. A gas scooter is generally faster than the electric models and can maintain a good speed for a longer period of time. A larger and heavier scooter has a larger gas tank as well so that you can travel further before having to stop and get gas.

While there are many things that can be done in order to conserve fuel and save money, such as car pooling, it is not always enough. That is one reason why the moped and scooter sales have been going through the roof and it does not show any signs of slowing down, until gas prices drop; however, that does not seem to be happening any time soon. So, of course, the gas powered scooter is likely to be around for quite some time.

Of course, some people still think that scooters are just for kids, but that could not be farther from the truth. While they are extremely cost effective they can still be a lot of fun. Some families have gotten more than one gas scooter so that they can take family excursions together without having to spend a great deal of money. It is more compact and as such you will have no problem when trying to park. Overall, motor scooters are an exceptional solution for most lifestyles.

Scooters Save Gas

The bottom line here is buy a motor scooter and save gas!

Motor scooters (sometimes called mopeds or go peds) are commonly purchased for use by children and teenagers, most of whom do not even possess a valid license to drive. However there is a whole new breed of scooters that have hit the market. Due to their size, fuel-efficiency, weight, and typically larger storage room than a motorcycle, they are ideal for teens. However with the recent spike in gas prices, adults are also looking into scooters as a fuel efficient alternative. They are an active way to not only get around but also have fun outside. The popularity of this type of vehicle will only continue to grow as gas prices soar and many are enjoying it everyday. Scooters are a fun and easy way to get around and enjoy not only the outdoors but also traveling almost anywhere. They are quite easily maneuvered, and can be turned left, right, up, down, and even completely around without trouble. Scooters are a breeze to drive, maneuver, and park, so no matter what your size or body type they are suitable. They are very easy to ride, and tend to be small enough to dodge traffic, making them great in cities. Scooters are still easier to drive than motorcycles in that there are no gears to shift and all the controls are at your fingertips.
Because most rear-wheel drive scooters are intended to negotiate more rugged terrain, they are usually equipped with rear anti-tips to support the scooter on hills. Because of the motor and wheel configuration, front-wheel drive scooters are usually direct-drive units, eliminating chains and belts. Conversely, rear-wheel drive scooters are powered by motors connected to the rear axle, either via a chain, a belt, a trans -axle unit, or some combination.

Gas

Gas powered scooters are more powerful, allowing the driver to travel further distances away from home. Although there has been an upturn in electric models, due to gas prices. Gas scooters and electric scooters are affordable making them the perfect alternative for short trips, local commutes, and a variety of sporting and recreational activities. Gas prices drive scooter sales. Gas powered scooters are lightweight and are generally thought of as a practical means of transportation. Gas powered scooters are built to offer faster speeds and a higher level of power than other types of scooters. For either recreation or transportation, electric scooters offer major advantages over gas-powered scooters: Electric scooters are allowed on public transit (bus/train/plane); gas-powered scooters are prohibited. Electric motors provide quick starts and hill-climbing without the delay of gas engine "ramp up". Motor scooters, both electric scooters and gas scooters, are a style of motorcycle that have a step through frame and have become a very popular method of travel all over the world.

Price

Prices are as low as $1,000, down from twice that, as cheaper scooters from Asia flood the market. Prices are quite reasonable, and the scooters cost almost nothing to operate. Higher end scooters can go as high as $8000 and can hit speeds of over 70 mph.

Conclusion

As fuel prices soar, motorcycles and scooters are more becoming more visible on city and suburban streets. Do your homework and some comparison shopping before buying. All in all they are a great investment and can only gain value to society as energy prices soar. Happy scootering!

Cheap Gas Scooters Within Your Reach

Since not everyone can get a driver's license or buy a car, a lot of people use gas scooters these days. 50% of these scooters are made in China. As a matter of fact, China is the largest manufacturer of scooters in the world. Because most of the scooters from China are two to five times lower than American and European models, a lot of people opt for these models. Unfortunately, because of problems with customer service and defective parts, these cheap gas scooters have gotten a lot of bad remarks since they were first introduced in the market.

The bad reputation of gas scooters from China

In most of the forums online, there are a lot of posts that complain about defective parts like oil leakages that are caused by wrongly placed cover gaskets, falling muffler guards and fragile speed cables. Some people also complained about customer service personnel that kept on advising them to get a tune up until the warranty has expired.

Proving the critics wrong

The good news is that manufacturing companies in China have improved their quality control. For this reason, there are a lot of reliable cheap gas scooters in the market. The bad news is that the quality of these products has no uniformity. It’s still possible to find a cheap gas scooter that may not function well. So that you wouldn't have any of these bad experiences, here are two cheap gas scooters that will never let you down.

The best cheap gas scooters from China

There are cheap gas scooters with a four-stroke 150cc engine for as low as $999 in the market. The cheapest basic gas scooter is the 150cc Roadrunner Classic. Its structure is easily assembled and is known for the smooth and quiet ride that it provides. They are also built with a remote and alarm system. They come in silver, red, blue, black and yellow. They even come with a trunk with a matching color. The good thing about the Roadrunner Classic is that all the units have been test driven. They also come with 24-month power train parts only warranty. These units also have several warranty extension options. Among all the cheap gas scooters that you can find in the market, the Roadrunner Classic is the best deal that you can get.

The TANK Urban Sporty, on the other hand, is highly recommended for its power and reliability. This stylish scooter has a simple but solid structure that can carry two passengers. It is also legal in the freeway. Built with a remote an alarm system, this scooter can be purchased at an amount of $1,299. It is considered to the best among all cheap gas scooters.

Although it is one of the most well-praised cheap gas scooters in the market, it is not perfect. Its fuel tank capacity is only 0.875 of a gallon and can only run 90 miles per gallon. Also, even though it is legal in the freeway, riding this TANK scooter can be very uncomfortable. Its small wheels can give a feeling of instability.

There are other reliable cheap gas scooters in the market. You just need a good eye for dealers and a reputable dealer in order to make sure that you will not go wrong in picking your bike.

Gas scooters have been around in European and Asian countries for quite some time; the Americans didn’t find them attractive, until recently. The American market opened its doors to gas scooters because of their many new styles and because they are being seen in many films. The rising price of gasoline is another reason for Americans’ acceptance of gas scooters.

Gas scooters are more advantageous over cars and motorcycles in terms of efficiency and convenience. The gas tank of most gas scooters use only a fraction of the expense needed to keep a car tank full. Some gas scooters even have an extra storage compartment, thus making it suitable for running local errands. Gas scooters are not only fuel efficient, but also quite cheap. The most expensive gas scooter costs much less than motorcycles and economy cars. Not only that, the insurance requirement for gas scooters is less restrictive than the equivalent liability coverage for cars and motorcycles. The reason for this is that the gas scooter cannot go at high speeds, thus lowering the probability of an accident occurring.

Compared to a gas scooter, motorcycles prove to be difficult to operate for day-to-day activities like shopping and commuting to work. Cars have many monthly payments, in addition to licensing fees and mandatory insurance. Due to its size, a gas scooter makes parking easy. Car owners have to go in loops looking for a suitable parking space, while a gas scooter can be legally parked in city-sponsored bicycle racks or even be secured to chains to sturdy objects on the sidewalk.

Although gas scooters are found readily in the retail market, not all retailers carry all the available styles. They keep only the popular models that most people ask for. However, those who want a unique scooter model just have to search online. All that one has to do is to surf the Internet for the numerous online scooter stores and choose the model and style of gas scooter required.

Gas Motor Scooters - The Truth Will Shock You

Many people already know that Gas Motor Scooters offer incredible gas mileage benefits compared to cars. Most cars get you about 20 mpg where the average scooter can get you up to 85 mpg. This is especially wonderful news with gas prices inching up to $5.00. However, this is not the only advantage for choosing a gas motor scooter. Here, are some of the other advantages most people are unaware of:

1. Cheapest Gas Vehicle on the market. The cost of a gas scooter compared to car is a bargain. The average new car can easily run you well over $15,000. A new gas scooter can run anywhere from $500 to $3,000. This is quite a price difference when you think you could have five scooters for the price of one car.

2. Lower Repair Costs. Gas Scooters offer lower repair costs because they get in less accidents than cars and their design is simpler than cars. This means you will spending less on repairs due to less accidents and less expensive parts. This is good news for those who are cost conscious as they try to stick to their budget.

3. Potentially Better Insurance Rates. You can often get better rates on a scooter than you can on a car. The lower accident percentages work in your favor as they keep your rates down. This is another hidden cash savings benefit of gas motor scooters.

4. Safer Than Cars and Motorcycles. Since gas scooters are normally designed for highway use and the worst accidents tend to occur on highways, buying a scooter keeps you away from the worst danger. Plus, the scooters design is small and sleek allowing it to avoid accidents rather than withstand the impact of them. At the end of the day, we would all rather avoid them than be in them.

5. More Environmentally Friendly. With greater gas mileage, you also get lesser emissions. At a time when we really can lower our carbon footprint with little impact on our daily lives, it only makes sense to set a good example for your family and friends.

Advantages of Using Gas Powered Scooters

If you have friends who are scooter freaks then gas powered scooters are great gift ideas for them. The biggest advantage of these scooters are that they are all fuel efficient and if the increasing price of gas is worrying you then any of these should be the ideal one as your regular transport.

Advantages of using gas powered scooters: According to a recent survey in US almost one out of three Americans prefers to ride the gas powered scooters. They use it keeping in mind the following advantages.

More speed for you: When you are thinking about speed then the gas powered scooters can really run fast. You can choose a scooter that runs at 16 miles per hour to one which can get a speed up to 65 miles per hour. Though the noisy engine might disturb you but then here is a solution for that too. Get a C.A.R.B Tier 2 exhaust emission motor.

A scooter which is more compact: The gas scooters unlike the other means of transport are quite light in weight with a small stature. It is easier to find a parking space for your gas scooter than a car or any other transport. Moreover it is easier to maneuver through narrow lanes in case you are stuck in traffic.

No headache of registration: The biggest advantage of riding a gas scooter is that in most cases you require neither a registration nor a driving license. This means that you do not have to shell out money for license or registration and you might not even need to have vehicle insurance in some cases.

More reliable: It is better to go for a gas scooter from a reputed brand and before buying it always ask for a warranty. Once you have a gas scooter you can find for yourself how good the service is but then remember it needs maintenance also and if you maintain it properly it is the best vehicle that you can have.

Think about expense: If you want to buy a car it will cost you a fortune and therefore if you need to have something at a lower price then go for a gas scooter; you can have them at a price as low as $300. Moreover they also come in various sizes and before buying it you can survey the models and decide which one suits you.

Environment friendly: The gas scooters operate on two stroke engine oil as well as gasoline. Since they come fitted with C.A.R.B Tier 2 exhaust therefore the fuel emission are in negligible amount if compared with that of a car and therefore is less harmful for you as well as the environment.

With so many advantages gas powered scooters are indeed best bargains for you as well as your friends who love scooters or want to own a vehicle.

Gas Motor Scooters - 3 Tips For Prospective Buyers

With record high fuel prices, the news outlets have been talking about how Americans are desperate to find modes of transportation that are not as costly as driving an automobile.
With gas prices reaching over $4.00 per gallon in the spring of 2008, motor scooter sales are booming as drivers struggle to pay the rising cost at the pumps. For the past 5 years we've watched fuel prices almost double which has lead many drivers with no other option but to find cheaper ways of traveling. Savvy drivers have been looking for ways to reduce their gas budgets, which has lead to the increase in sales of gas motor scooters.

It might be that when you think of a motor scooter, you automatically think of the small scooters that had little use other than something to play around on. Over the years scooter manufacturers have listened to find out what consumers want when building a motor scooter. Consumers responded saying that they wanted a scooter that could replace their car and that they wanted something that can be driven anywhere that a car could be driven. Although small gas scooters with 50cc engines are still available and are selling fast as well, you should also know that newer, larger motor scooters are a hot commodity today. These newer, faster gas scooters have engines over 100cc's and features such as windshields, radios and larger tires, that are not normally available on a smaller scooter. The new generation motor scooters are allowing consumers more freedom when it comes to driving a gas scooters since these can be driven on major highways.

If you're about to start looking for a gas scooter, here are a few things that you need to keep in mind when buying a gas motor scooter:

How Long Will You Keep It?

First you will want to decide what you plans are in terms of how long you plan to keep your gas powered motor scooter. If you're looking for a model that you can keep for a number of years and drive thousands of miles you will want to consider buying a model with a larger engine. Larger engines will be better suited for high mileage, whereas a small, inexpensive motor scooter would be better suited to driving short distances or on an occasional basis. Popular among students are the small, cheap scooters that provide reliable and economical transportation during the summer months. A small, 50cc model would be well suited to this purpose. Usually the brand should be a consideration when determining the quality of a motor scooter. Of the brand name scooters such as Vespa and Honda, you will notice that there are many still on the road today that were built in the 70's & 80's. A gas powered scooter, when properly maintained can last for years, or if abused and neglected, may last only a few seasons.

Engine Size

Of all the factors to consider when buying a gas powered scooter, engine size quite possibly the most important. The size of engine that the scooters has will will dictate where you will be able to drive the scooter. Small scooters with engine sizes below 50cc, are good for streets, but if you want to drive it on the highway, you will want to get a 100cc model or higher. If you plan to use your motor scooter on highways, buy the largest model that you can afford on your budget and consult your Department of Motor Vehicles office to find out specific laws regarding driving motor scooters in your area.

Cost

Cost may be the most important factor for many when choosing a motor scooter that's right for you. There are motor scooters available for less than $1000 which are good as a means of transportation for short distances, on secondary roads or for a specific period of time in life, such as a summer break. These scooters are usually made in China and are available on the internet for less than $1000. If your budget is a little higher, a more mainstream scooter such as a Vespa or Honda is a great option as these are proven to be quality scooters. If your budget is larger and you want the ultimate in luxury motor scooters or a scooter full of features, a Piaggio MP3 or a Suzuki Burgman might be right for you. These larger scooters are actually about the same size as a motorcycle, but offer the uniqueness of a gas motor scooter.

Before buying a scooter, ensure that you do adequate research so that you purchase the scooter that will be best for your needs.

Cheap Gas Scooters - What You Need to Know Before Buying

One thing all consumers can agree with is they don't like parting with their money. For this reason, cheap gas scooters can be very appealing for those who are on a budget or trying to save some cash. However, buying a cheap gas scooter can be dangerous if you do not know what you are doing. To help you avoid buying a bad scooter, we have put together the following tips:

1. Be willing to sacrifice certain features. If you are willing to opt for a smaller engine, you can save some serious cash. Although 50cc engines are not the most powerful, they are very effective for most people's needs. Plus, they usually get better gas mileage. Do an analysis of your needs to see if a smaller engine would work for you. Also, see if there are other features you could do without. Creating a priority list can help you find a scooter that has what you absolutely must have and save you money but cutting out the non-essentials.

2. Consider buying used models. This is a great way for getting some top model scooters at a bargain price. If you are interested in Vespa for instance, this is what you would need to do if you are working on a budget. Used scooters work great as long as you stick with manufacturers that have an established reputation.

3. Experienced mechanics can take a chance on new companies. If you know your way around a scooter and can do your own repair work, you can save some cash by taking a chance on new companies and manufacturers. They will usually offer cheaper prices to try to get you to become a customer. The knock on them usually is about getting parts and finding mechanics who can do the repair work. However, if you are handy with a wrench and have some scooter knowledge, this becomes a non-issue for you.

4. Don't be afraid to bargain with the salesman. Often times, you can get the salesperson to come down on their price. This isn't as lucrative as used car bargaining, but you can get some cash savings if you are willing to make the request and shop at other places. For this reason, don't be afraid to make a counter offer.

Gas powered Scooters are making a comeback as the preferred mode of transportation.

No longer are they just for kids. Gas powered scooters are rapidly taking over as the preferred method of transportation to work and school. They are economical, can maneuver through tight spaces and with a gas scooter, you can take short-cuts that an automobile can not.

Gas powered scooters are also known as mopeds which is a two-wheeled (normally) low powered vehicle. In most states its small size and low power output allow it to escape many of the licensing, insurance, and driver restrictions placed on motorcycles. However, be careful of the true description of moped.

a. A moped is traditionally defined as a motorized 2 wheel vehicle that is part human and part motor driven. A moped has pedals so that it can be propelled by human power. As you can see, gas powered scooters do not fit most states definition of moped.

Don't fret though, a gas scooter used properly will not get you into any trouble in most places. If used responsibly and traffic laws are obeyed, most law enforcement won't touch you.

Gas scooters were first introduced in the mid 1950's. The first design was little more than a bicycle with an engine mounted on it, it was called a cyclemotor. The cylcemotor can still be seen on the road these days in the form of electric bikes.

One reason some people have a gas scooter is to circumvent loosing a driver's license. Many states don't require a driver to have an operator's license if they are over eighteen years of age, sixteen in some states. They also don't require insurance and registration.

Gas powered scooters have several advantage that should be noted.

a. No parking spots required. Some gas powered scooters can fold down for easy storage right in your office, or you can tie it up at the door with the bicycles right in front of the buildings door or on the sidewalk.

b. A gas powered scooter is faster than the average electric scooter. They can travel at speeds up to thirty-five miles an hour.

c. Gas powered scooters can maneuver rather well - A gas powered scooter is a great way to move through traffic. They dart in and out between cars, especially gridlocked traffic. Imagine sleeping in an extra twenty-thirty minutes. With the time you save avoiding traffic, you can afford to. how smart are you?

d. Gas scooters have very cool body styles; some gas powered scooters look more like miniature motorcycles than scooters.

e. Gas scooters save tons of money - While the cost of gassing up gas powered scooters might seem expensive compared to the low cost of running an electric scooter, the mileage they get quickly makes up for the gallon of gas they require.

f. Maintenance is a breeze- A Gas scooter is easy to maintain. With a basic grasp of tools and a decent book about mechanics most people are able to maintain their gas powered scooters in their own garage.

The best thing about a gas scooter is the freedom to literally go just about anywhere. While you ride your scooter along the trail or the beach, you can go more places than most automobiles. Hop on your new gas scooter and get ready for a new adventure. Take a minute and smell the roses or take in the sights like never before. What more could you ask for?

Gas scooters have become very popular in recent years with a variety of people, for a lot of reasons. They are compact and easily maneuverable in congested city settings. Because they are basically maintenance free, gas scooters have become a staple in college life. Students use them for getting from class to class or even for short trips.

The very first thing you should check when thinking of purchasing a gas scooter is the law in your state and also double check with local law enforcement. The state may not have a problem with gas scooters, but local government may have ordinances in place stating when and where you can use the scooters. You may run into sticky stops because they are not quite a vehicle, but are not quite a bicycle, either.

The laws will also vary from state to state, so make sure you completely check all the states you will be scooting in. Some places will say that scooters have to obey the same traffic laws as cars, but are classified as a variant of bicycles. Massachusetts's law says that a rider must have at least a learner's permit, as well as wear a helmet and observe traffic laws. However, it doesn't need to be registered because the DMV classifies it the same as a skateboard.

If you are going to use the gas scooter, make sure it can keep up with traffic. You should be able to go at least the minimum speed so as to not cause a hazard. You should get between fifty and seventy miles per gallon. Besides the great gas mileage, these scooters are recommended more than electric scooters for long distance errands or 'running around' town. The batteries in electric scooters may run out, leaving you stranded. Also, gas scooters are better equipped to be used in traffic.

Keep in mind that, when riding a scooter, they are for use by one rider at a time. Putting an extra body on may prove unsafe. Also, be sure to wear a helmet and follow the local traffic laws. Treating the scooter as a motorcycle is a good rule of thumb.

In fact, these scooters are so similar to motorcycles, that The Motorcycle Safety Foundation has started offering courses in safety for gas scooter riders. The main thing that riders of both vehicles have to watch out for is people driving traditional cars, trucks and SUVs. They are not used to watching for scooters or motorcycles. This is why you must be extra careful if you chose to use this as your mode of transportation on regular roadways.

Don't forget, for all the upsides of gas scooters, make sure it is legal for you to drive one in your city, town or state. Make sure you have a helmet if one is required by law and for safety's sake.

Summary:

Recently, gas scooters have become more popular due to excellent gas mileage, few repairs and affordability. Just make sure that your state and local governments allow scooters and be sure to follow all safety precautions, including watching out for drivers in cars that may not be looking out for you.
